Drivers are expecting the kind of connected features in their cars that they get from their smartphones and tablets, and the arrival of standard platforms is generating tumultuously development of rich, contextual, personalized and user centric experiences that are deeply integrated into the connected car.


THE CHALLENGE

The CA+Hackathon is an app-building contest held at the Monza Circuit in Italy, temple of speed and automotive innovation and development hub for the smart mobility community. A cool event that brings together teams of technologists and industry stakeholders to shape the next generation of the connected cars.

The CA+Hackathon provides a playful, exploratory environment where disruption and creative ideas are the essential tools for innovation.

The CA+Hackathon gives developers, designers, and entrepreneurs the chance to pitch app and product ideas – form teams – build prototypes- and present to our hackathon judges for a chance to be one of the top hackathon winners who get prizes, publicity and connections through the platforms of Connected Automobiles and Smart Mobility World events.

RULES

Basic rules for hackathon so that all participant have same chance in developing and presenting to jury, in order to win prizes.

Participation
-We welcome attendees from all backgrounds who are at least 18 years old.
-Maximum number of attendees is a 100 or up to 25 team.
-Teams must be no larger than 5 people.
-Teams will be named after memorable F1 drivers.

Competition Rules
-All code must be created during the duration of the Hackathon.
-Feel free to make plans and brainstorm prior to the event.
-All SW & HW platforms are allowed.
-Everyone is required to bring own computer.

Jury and Judging criteria
-We have some of the best people in the automotive, ICT and media industry as Judges.
-The main prizes will be judged by the following criteria:

  • DESIGN – Is the application smart, visually appealing, and useable?
  • EFFECTIVE USE OF API – Does the application benefit from the unique functionality presented by the provided APIs?
  • UTILITY – Is the application compelling and/or essential?
  • ORIGINALITY – Is the application unique and/or innovative?
  • FUSION – The combination of more than one APIs will increase the final result of the made application.
  • SUITABLE– Is the application really applicable to connected car?

House Rules
-Food, drinks and technical infrastructure will be provided
-Please use the provided Internet connection in a legally fitting manner.
-Don’t hack into secured resources or download illegal media content.
-If we find out about misuse we will disqualify you and your team.
